In Nekketsu Kakutou Densetsu, your objective is to fight through waves of enemy gang members across multiple urban stages. You control your character with the D-pad to move and have buttons for punching, kicking, and performing a special spinning attack when you press both buttons simultaneously. The moment-to-moment play involves advancing to the right, defeating all enemies in an area to proceed, and occasionally battling a stronger boss character. A useful beginner strategy is to use your character's reach and mobility to avoid being surrounded; try to lure enemies into single-file lines to take them on one by one. The challenge rhythm is consistent, with regular enemy encounters punctuated by tougher mini-bosses. In the early part of a stage, focus on learning enemy patterns and conserving health. During the middle sections, manage your positioning carefully as enemy numbers increase. In tense moments, especially during boss fights, rely on your powerful special attack to clear space and deal significant damage, but use it sparingly as it consumes health.
