The objective of Super Mario Kart is to win races against seven other characters on a variety of tracks. You control your kart using the D-pad to steer and accelerate. The core gameplay involves navigating the track, drifting around corners by holding the R button to maintain speed, and collecting item boxes that appear on the course. These boxes give you offensive items like shells to attack opponents or defensive items like bananas to create hazards. In the early part of a race, focus on learning the track layout and collecting items. During the middle laps, use your items strategically to overtake opponents or block their attacks. In tense final moments, a well-timed mushroom boost or a red shell can secure your victory. Mastering the drift is key to maintaining high speeds on corners.
