Moment-to-moment play involves striking with punches and kicks, grappling to initiate holds or throws, and using the rope rebound for momentum. A useful beginner strategy is to focus on building your spirit gauge early by successfully landing attacks, then unleashing a special move when your opponent's health is low. The challenge rhythm involves managing your position in the ring, reversing opponent attacks with well-timed button presses, and capitalizing on openings.
