Final Fantasy II on WonderSwan Color is a traditional turn-based RPG. Your primary goal is to guide a party of heroes through a story-driven quest to defeat the evil Palamecian Empire. You explore towns to gather information and equipment, traverse a world map, and engage in random enemy encounters. Combat is menu-based: you select actions like Attack, Magic, or Item for each character. A unique feature is the proficiency system, where characters improve skills you use most often, such as swords or specific magic spells. Early on, focus on balancing your party's development and acquiring curative magic.
