You control Billy, a rugged hero, through a series of challenging stages including driving, shooting, and hand-to-hand combat segments. The core objective is to survive each stage, defeat enemies, and ultimately rescue Annabelle. In the driving stages, you must navigate a swamp buggy while avoiding obstacles and shooting enemy vehicles. In the side-scrolling action stages, you punch, kick, and use weapons like knives and whips to defeat thugs, alligators, and other hazards. A useful beginner strategy is to master the timing of your attacks and jumps, and to pick up health-restoring items whenever possible. In the early part of a run, focus on learning enemy patterns and conserving health. During tense moments, such as boss fights, prioritize dodging attacks and striking when you see an opening.
